In a large metropolitan area like Phoenix, you might expect that there is always something going on. You are correct! Phoenix, Peoria, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale and many other communities have recurring events of which they are proud.

These are many of the community events that you can count on year in and year out. All dates, prices, and activities mentioned are subject to change without notice. Check the web site or call to confirm information. The activities in this event calendar are appropriate for families unless otherwise indicated. If the event is free, I'll mention that, too.

    The Arizona Diamondbacks play professional Baseball at Chase Field.

    One-day event offering education, resources and entertainment. Exhibitors include counselors, agencies, treatment facilities, out patient clinics, marriage and family therapists and specialists in areas such as eating disorders, gambling addiction, and financial recovery/credit restoration, tax issues, educational opportunities, legal advice and more.   • Avondale's Entertainment Series
    Free concerts and shows will be held at Avondale Civic Center Amphitheater. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Pack a picnic dinner (no glass containers or alcohol), or purchase a meal from a vendor.

  • Fall Starlight Concert Series
    Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and snacks snacks, and sit back and enjoy a relaxing evening in the park while you listen to some of the Valleys best musical entertainers! Free. All performances are held on Tuesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. at Tumbleweed Park.
